About This Project
This project was commissioned by United Utilities to create a SUDs rain garden with the aim being to provide resilience to the public sewer network to help prevent local flooding issues whilst also providing educational opportunities and increasing biodiversity to the school. Works included the construction of 1m deep rain gardens filled with clean drainage stone and bio-retention soil and ornamental planting. Downpipes and existing surface water drainage was directed into the rain gardens via channels, underground pipes and Aco drains. The project included the installation of planters to capture surface water from down pipes and the Installation of waterwalls. As well as the installation of outdoor classrooms.
